Team

We are focused on having a diverse, fair, and inclusive team and work environment. Team members support each other and help out when we see someone physically or mentally struggling. We work respectfully with people from different backgrounds, experiences, and nationalities. To collaborate more efficiently and ensure reproducibility, we implement the principles of open data and open science

Dr. Robert Ladwig
(he/him)

Robert is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Lake Modeling and Freshwater Ecology at Aarhus University. As a computational limnologist, he has keen interests in aquatic ecosystem modeling, physical limnology, freshwater ecology and deep learning. Robert is a co-founder and member of the organisational team of Hacking Limnology, a member of the lake sector coordination team in the Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP), and one of the moderators of the lake modeling working group in GLEON. His hobbies include running, reading science fiction and spending time outdoors.

The Team

Dr. Tuba Bucak Onay
Tenure-Track Researcher

Tuba is a Researcher in Lake Modeling and Freshwater Ecology at Aarhus University. She specializes in lake modeling, catchment modeling (SWAT), data analysis, GIS, and lake GHG dynamics. Her primary motivation in research is to apply ecological theory and statistical/modelling tools to deliver robust methodologies/solutions for management, biodiversity and conservation challenges. Her hobbies include exploring musical instruments and studying ancient languages.

Lipa Gutani Terrence Nkwalale
PhD Student (main supervisor: Dr. Karsten Rinke)

Lipa is a PhD student in the ITN inventWater at the Lake Research Department at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (Germany). His research explores climate adaptation strategies for lakes, including the development and implementation of dissolved oxygen models within lake environments.
